Commodore Bobmanuel Kokoete Effiong

Commodore Bobmanuel Kokoete Effiong was born in Calabar, Cross River State. He attended the Nigeria Military School Zaria 1984 – 89 from where he gained admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy on 17 August 1990 as a member of 42RC. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Navy as a Sub Lieutenant on 16 September 1995. 

In the course of his career, Effiong has attended several both military and civil courses some of which include; the Sub Technical Course at NNS QUORRA in 1996, Junior Staff Course at AFCSC Jaji in 2002, Officers Long Course Navigation and Direction at NNS QUORRA in 2003, Senior Staff Course at AFCSC Jaji in 2007 and Strategic Course at National Defence College Nigeria in 2016.  His civil qualifications are BSc Physics from NDA in 1994, NIIT Certificate in Data Base Administrator Oracle 10g in 2005, Master of Technology in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University Ife in 2009 and Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 2011.

Some of the appointments held in the Service include; Navigating Officer NNS KYANWA, Directing Staff in AFCSC Jaji, Executive Officer NNS BEECROFT and Maritime Component Commander Op LAFIYA DOLE. Others are, Commanding Officer NNS SAGBAMA, Asst Dir Monitoring Evaluation and Analysis Transformation Branch at NHQ. He is presently a Directing Staff at the Naval War College Nigeria.

He has the following award and decorations; MSS, psc+, fdc

Commodore BK Effiong enjoys watching and playing games. He is married with children.
