Naval War College Nigeria inaugurates Naval Warfare Course 4

The erstwhile Commandant Naval War College Nigeria Rear Admiral AO Ayobanjo has charged the participants of Naval Warfare Course 4 to be on alert in order to effectively deal with myriads of security challenges facing the country. Rear Admiral Ayobanjo made this charge while delivering his welcome address at the virtual inaugural lecture for the NWC 4 held at Vice Admiral UO Jibrin Auditorium Calabar. He told the 21 participants made up of Army, Navy and Airforce officers been the principal Course of NWCN, was particularly structure to equip senior Naval officers and their equivalents from other services and sister agencies with requisite capacity and skills. The commandant further explained that the maiden inaugural lecture was scheduled to hold in early June 2020, adding that the observance of the federal Government on COVID 19 protocol on the college necessitated the self isolation of the participants for 14 days and virtual inaugural lecture with the theme Understanding Operational Level Warfare. The Virtual lecture was delivered by Rear Admiral Aminu Baba Lawal (Rtd) said that the lecture was to equip the participants with operational Warfare training. The Admiral told the participants that as operational level commanders they needed to create results to achieve operational framework for their commanders. In his remarks, the erstwhile flag officer commanding Eastern Naval Command Rear Admiral DA Adeniran (Rtd) who was the special guest of honour for the event and was represented by the erstwhile chief staff officer of the command Rear Admiral TA Imam, congratulated the participants for their nomination to participate in the course. While thanking the erstwhile chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral IE Ibas(Rtd) for creating the enabling platform for capacity building of officers in the Nigerian Navy.
