A total of 24 participants of Naval Warfare Course (NWC) 8 were formally inaugurated by the Commandant Rear Admiral A Ahmed on Friday 02 February 2024. The Course comprised of 17 Cdr., two Lt. -Col., two Wing Cdrs., a Capt. from Guinea Bissau and two Cdrs. from Ghana and Cameroon. The Commandant, in his address urged the Participants of the NWC 8 to take advantage of the robust curriculum so as to better equip themselves with the right professional knowledge and skills needed to tackle the various security challenges currently facing the nation which they will be deployed to manage.
The Guest Speaker for the Inaugural lecture was the former Commandant of the Naval War College Nigeria as well as the National Defence College Rear Admiral MM Bashir (Rtd).
The Special Guest of Honour Rear Admiral OK Oluwagbire the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command was also present at the inaugural lecture.
