PARTICIPANTS OF NAVAL WARFARE COURSE 9 CONDUCTS OPERATIONS VISIT TO RIVERS STATE

As part of training programme for participants of Naval Warfare Course (NWC) 9, Naval War College Nigeria (NWCN) successfully conducts Operations Visit to Rivers State from 22 – 26 June 2025. The theme of the Operations Visit was “Optimizing Technology for Effective Maritime Security Operations”. The Operations Visit was designed to expose participants to the thematic areas of National Security with operational level engagements.

During the Operations Visit, the participants visited several military, security and government establishments, including the Administrator of Rivers State, Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Nigerian Navy Ship PATHFINDER, Headquarters 6 Division Nigerian Army, 6 Division Brigade Garrison and Special Operations Group Nigerian Air Force. Others include the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp, Ocean Maritime Services, Department of State Services, Naval Shipyard Limited and Nigerian Ports Authority.

At each location, the participants received in-depth presentations and comprehensive briefings on the synergy between various agencies in Rivers State towards addressing maritime security threats within its joint operations area.

The Commandant NWCN, Rear Admiral AO Olodude expressed his appreciation for the hospitality and warm reception accorded the NWCN delegation by various agencies and government institutions. He also emphasized the crucial role of several agencies in the State as key players in enhancing and sustaining maritime security in Rivers State.

The successful conduct of the Operations Visit highlights the NWCN commitment to developing senior naval officers and equivalent from other Services as operational level commanders.
