PARTICIPANTS OF NAVAL WARFARE COURSE 9 OF NAVAL WAR COLLEGE NIGERIA PRESENTS REPORT ON THE STUDY OF DELTA STATE

1. On Friday 6 June 2025, participants of Naval Warfare Course (NWC) 9 of Naval War College Nigeria (NWCN) presented the report of the Environmental Study Tour (EST) of Delta State conducted from 16 – 21 March 2025. The study tour was aimed at consolidating on the theoretical knowledge gained from the series of lectures on national security and organization of defence. The theme of the EST was “Maritime Security: A Panacea for Viable Socio-Economic Development”.

2. In the report, the participants of NWC 9 made some remarkable recommendation that could enhance maritime security and socio-economic development in Delta State. Present at the presentation was the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori who was represented by the Director General of Security of Delta State, Honourable David Tonwe. The representative of the Executive Governor commended the College for the effort at embarking on such strategic research/study of the State and in particular, for acquainting the State with the findings and recommendation of the study. He thereafter assured the College that the Delta State Government will critically consider the recommendation with a view to implementing them. In his remarks, the Commandant NWCN Rear Admiral AO Olodude expressed his appreciation for the support and hospitality extended to the College. He also thanked the Representative of the Executive Governor for his presence at the presentation.
