Commodore PS Anabraba DSS  psc + MIAD MDA MSc FCIA FCIPDM MNIM

Commodore Pakiribo Solomon Anabraba was born on 21 October 1971 at Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State. He had his primary education at the Rivers State University Staff School, and his secondary education at Enitonna High School, Borikiri, both in Port Harcourt. Commodore Anabraba enlisted into the Nigerian Defence Academy on 17 August 1990 as a member of Regular Course 42 and was commissioned Sub-Lieutenant on 17 September 1995.

Cdre Anabraba has attended several courses. From 1995 to 1996 he attended the Sub-Technical Course at the Nigerian Navy Ship QUORRA (NNS QUORRA). In 2001, he was at the prestigious Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, for the Junior Staff Course while in 2003, the senior officer was again at NNS QUORRA for the Officers’ Long Course where he specialized in Navigation and Direction. In 2006, he returned to the AFCSC for the Senior Staff Course.

Cdre Anabraba has also attended courses outside Nigeria. In 2008, he was at the United States Coast Guard Training Center, York Town, Virginia, for the International Maritime Officers Course and was certified in Search and Rescue, International Maritime Law, Military Judicial System and Jurisprudence, and the International Ship and Port Security Code amongst others. In Dec 2012, he was again in the United States to attend a course on Piracy and International Terrorism at NETSAFA, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. In 2018, the senior officer successfully completed the Higher Defence Management and Strategic Course at the prestigious National Defence College (NDC), graduating best in the naval class.

The senior officer has also delved into the academia. He graduated from the NDA with a second-class upper division in Chemistry and in 2012, bagged a master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy (MIAD) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna. He is also a proud recipient of a Master of Science Degree in Defence Analysis and National Security Affairs from the Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, California, USA, where he graduated with honours. He is currently a post-graduate student at the University of Ibadan pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Peace and Strategic Studies. 

Cdre PS Anabraba has held several staff and training appointments in the NN. These include Watch Keeping Officer onboard NNS ARADU, between 1996 and 1997; Duties with Commanding Officer NNS OKEMINI, Port Harcourt, now NNS PATHFINDER, between August 1998 and March 2001; and Watch Keeping Duties  onboard NNS AMBE in March 2001. In 2004, the senior officer was appointed instructor NNC, Onne, Port Harcourt and in August of the same year, he was made the Flag Lieutenant to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), an appointment that transformed into Security Officer after the CNS retired from office in August 2005. He was Security Officer to the retired Chief until August 2006 when he proceeded for the Senior Course at the AFCSC. Between 2007 and 2009, Anabraba was the Navigating Officer NNS NWAMBA, during which the Ship sailed to Brazil for the 200th Anniversary of the Brazilian Navy. The senior officer was later appointed the Base Operations Officer (BOO) NNS BEECROFT in 2009 and in 2010, he was appointed Member of Faculty at the AFCSC Jaji, Kaduna, where he was awarded the coveted passed staff college dagger (psc+). After his tour of duty at the AFCSC, he was appointed XO NNS THUNDER in 2013 during which the Ship sailed to Australia for the 100th Anniversary of the Australian Navy. In February 2016, the senior officer was appointed CO NNS PROSPERITY, an appointed he held until Sep 17 when he proceeded to the NDC, Nigeria for the strategic senior level management course. After his course at the NDC in Aug 18, the senior officer was appointed to the HQ NAVTRAC as the Deputy Command Ashore and Sea Training Officer and in Mar 19 he was appointed the Training Captain NNS QUORRA. Commodore PS Anabraba is currently one of the Members of Faculty at the NWC, Nigeria.

 Cdre PS Anabraba is a proud recipient of the Forces Service Star (FSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS) and Distinguish Service Star (DSS). He is also a proud recipient of the coveted Pass Staff Course Dagger (psc+). Cdre Anabraba is a Fellow Chartered Institute of Administration (FCIA), Fellow Chartered Institute Public Diplomacy and Management (FCIPDM) as well as Member Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM). 

Cdre Anabraba’s hobbies are reading, exercising, socializing and spending quiet moments. He is married to Mrs Atinuke Anabraba and the union is blessed with 4 children; 2 males and 2 females.
