Commandant

Rear Admiral Akinola Olatunde Olodude is a distinguished senior naval officer currently serving as the Eighth Commandant Naval War College Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna-Nigeria and a Master’s in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria-Nigeria. He also holds a Master’s in Human Resource Management from the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom and a Master’s in Security and Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

Rear Admiral AO Olodude is an alumnus of the National Defence College, Nigeria where he attended the Higher Defence Management and Strategic Course. The senior officer has held several operational, instructional and staff appointments in the course of his career. His operational experience in Service commenced with his participation in the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group operations in Liberia and Sierra Leone. He was later the Commanding Officer Nigerian Navy Ship PROSPERITY and the Commander Nigerian Navy Western Fleet. Rear Admiral Olodude was also a Directing Staff and later a Chief Instructor at Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji-Nigeria as well as a Directing Staff at National Defence College, Nigeria. As the Director Plans at Naval Headquarters, he contributed significantly to the formulation of several policies as well as strategic planning processes that drove remarkable advancements in Nigerian Navy. The senior officer is a seasoned resource person particularly in the field of Net Assessment.

In recognition of his commitment and dedication to Service, Admiral Olodude has received several honours and awards. The honours and awards include Grand Service Star; Distinguished Fellow of the Defence College; Passed Staff Course Dagger and Command at Sea Barge. Others are Chief of Defence Staff Award; Chief of Training and Operations Award and United Kingdom Chevening Scholar.

Rear Admiral Olodude is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, United Kingdom. He is happily married to Fadeke and the union is blessed with 3 children.
